If it's an authentic Irish pub you are after look no further than Lenehan's Pub, Castlecomer Road in Kilkenny.Lenhans Kilkenny Irish Pub Front

This pub is cosy out & as original as they come not much has changed since it was a merchant trader house until today.

The striking pubfront with handcarved corbels & rich red colour invites you inside & you won't be disapointed with the traditional pub interior.

Lovingly card for over the generations by the Lenehan family from generation to generation.

The front bar complete with original snug in the window still retains the old shop drawers behind the dark timber bar counter.

The front shop section of the pub is divided off by beautifully moulded top glazed screens with warm textured glass, adding warmth to this gorgeous space.

The dark timber panelled ceiling adds to the cocoon like feeling of this pub, warm amber coloured pendants hang over the panelled bar counter, filled with atmosphere & character.

It's the kind of pub that you can settle into for the night.

This lovely Victorian style pub in the heart of Kilkenny city is a great example of a new Pub design feeling as if it's been there for generations. The Dylan Whisky Bar Kilkenny

The designers of this pub which was built in 2009 have done a great job as it really feels like an older pub.

It is warm & cosy in appearance with rich timber tones & lovely Victorian detailing to the joinery elements.

Beautiful cut out detailing sits on top of simply glazed timbers screens which house the pubs award winning snug, comes complete with private door & additional door internally to create 2 snugs. The Dylan Pub Kilkenny Snug

Adding to the cocoon like feel of this pub is the decorative back bar, ornate timber wall panelling & wood block floor, glazed screens & cabinets full of Whiskeys.

One thing I really love is the lighter tone of timber, as most Victorian style pubs tend to veer towards a darker timber colour, this colour choice just adds warmth especially when combined with the rich red painted anaglypta wallpaper on the ceiling, creating a 19th century feel & atmosphere. The Dylan Pub Kilkenny

Traditional oxblood buttonback settle benches & brass studded bar stools with backs add an extra level of detail & invite you to sit, relax & enjoy!
Traditional style wall sconces & pendants in amber tones complete the look.

Named after the legendary Bob Dylan combined with a Whisky concept, music & spirits combined to create a unique pub.
The pubs slogan is “Taste, Feel and Experience the Spirit of The Dylan”.The Dylan Whiskey Bar Kilkenny
What a lovely pub!! I could happily settle in for an evening of good music & atmosphere!!

I love Irish Pub Shopfronts !!!Irish Pub Shopfront design

From the grandeur of a Victorian Dublin Pub to the rural simple charm of a country cottage Pub, with a simple sign over the front door.
I especially love these small but perfectly formed shopfronts.

They all reflect the scale of a lot of Irish buildings of days gone by, with low ceilings & small windows, & these examples are perfect in scale to the building they sit into.

They just show you what you can do with a simple shopfront; although small they are all eye-catching due to the contrast of colours used & use of simple advertising signage.Irish Pub Shopfront Design O Connells
The scale of the shopfront pilasters is petite, in keeping with the height.

Although they may be smaller than other shopfronts the level of detail is not lost, detail being added through the use of hand carved corbels & raised lettering.
Small, perfect & very inviting.

They are beautiful, simple & effective.

Mosaic's & tiled patterned floors are a beautiful style feature of any Irish Pub.Irish Pub Mosaic Flooring

Especially in a Victorian or Pub/ Shop Style, they add an extra dimension to a pub's design.

There are many examples of original mosaic tiles to be seen in pubs in Ireland, having been worn in & rounded with year’s worth of shoe traffic. These tiles add an extra level of detail to a pub design, give great vibrancy & colour to an area, almost decorating the pub by themselves.

Whilst traditional tile designs will always look the part why not design in a more contemporary design into a traditional style pub, give a traditional craft a modern twist. I love the way David Collins added a contemporary design in this traditional style Bar in Kilkenny, Bridie’s Bar, part of Langton's House Hotel, John Street, Kilkenny. Black & white always make for a stylish combination, in either a traditional or contemporary design.

Irish Pub Flooring Mosaic Tiling

Mixing traditional design style with modern materials creates a familiar traditional style venue, whilst adding a stylish contemporary edge, bringing the past into the present in a manner that is sympathetic to both eras.

There are many designs available with mosaic tiling, the only limit is your imagination, all tiled flooring can be custom designed for your pub/ premises’.Irish Pub Mosaic Flooring
It is also possible to design your logo & brand into a mosaic panel, making it truly unique to you & putting your stamp on your pub for generations to come.
